Arquitectura” is an architectural design studio headed by Ar. Fariah Sharmeen Akbar & Ar. Shafiul Azam Shamim, which was EST-2010 to create inspiring designs with constant mindfulness to explore possibilities & to challenge boundaries. Its aim is to create space, structure & environments that celebrate a timeless quality detached from any pursuit of specific design, styles or trends.

“ARQUITECTURA” provides wide-ranging services for its clientele including architectural, structural, electrical, sanitation, landscape and interior designs. Pre-design services include preparation of development strategy, project analysis and feasibility study, land-use plan, preliminary cost estimates, project presentation etc. Our associate soil engineers and surveyors provide soil test and land survey services. Post-design services include preparation of schedule of items, bill of quantities, specifications, cost estimates, tender documents, evaluation of tender bids, construction management and monitoring, contract administration etc.

Fariah Sharmeen Akbar

Principal Architect, Chairman.

Graduated from BRAC university [BRAC.U] Dhaka in 2009. An architect-partner of ARQUITECTURA design studio, who is also a faculty of interior design at Ex-In Ltd, Dhaka. She is the key Visionary person of this independent design studio with the basic idea of studio for all. Ar. Fariah’s experience encompasses a wide range of residential, commercial, factory & industrial, recreational and tourism related projects across the region and elsewhere. She is an enthusiastic person with a wide interest of art, music & culture. She founder director of “Studio Bowerbird Ltd.” Ar. Fariah is also the present Chairman of Arquitectura (Pvt.) Ltd.

Shafiul Azam Shamim

Managing Director

Graduated from Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology [AUST] Dhaka in 2009 as a Top of the Batch. In spite of being a lecturer as the topper he decided to embrace the difficulties and challenges of a practicing architect. Recently completed his professional masters from prestigious Glenn Murcutt Master Class, Australia along with his ongoing Masters at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) on Ar. Shafiul is also worked with eminent architect Marina Tabassum (MTA) as a associate & research assistant. His Philosophy of work is each projects has its unique needs and qualities which require innovative and fresh solution. Ar. Shafiul is also architect partner of Arquitectura design studio and Managing director of Arquitectura (Pvt.) Ltd. He is full member of Institute of architects Bangladesh and Int. Associate member of American Institute of Architect (AIA).
